Hand In Hand Partners in Caring is a program of the Jewish Home and Care Center in Milwaukee that trains volunteers to assist residents in the final stages of life. The volunteers go through special training to work with pastoral and nursing services to provide friendship. comfort, vigils and respite to family members when appropriate. “Caring Partners was created to enhance each resident’s quality of life in a peaceful, loving environment.” These volunteers provide an often needed connection between a family and the institution and can serve as a type of patient advocate.
