In January 2019, Prof. Wertheimer received the American Jewish Studies Celebrate 350 Award for The New American Judaism.

Jack Wertheimer is professor of American Jewish History at the Jewish Theological Seminary. He writes about religious, communal and educational trends since the middle of the 20th century. The author and editor of 15 volumes, his most recent book is The New American Judaism: How Jews Practice Their Religion Today (Princeton University Press, 2018).
