About the Guest

Shari Haber

Shari Haber founded Great Goodbyes LLC in 2017 to empower people to “die better and be remembered best” by enlightening them about emerging death care options and their rights as funeral consumers.

Her group talks and private “Death Prep” sessions emphasize the benefits of advance planning to maximize choice and savings, and to minimize loved ones’ stress during bereavement. She advocates: “planning for your own death isn’t morbid or woo-woo, it’s sensible, will give you peace of mind and is an act of lovingkindness.”

Before embarking on a career in death education and planning, Shari was a senior PR executive who launched many successful consumer technology brands. She later worked on a TV script about Baby Boomers rewriting the aging narrative, and discovered many also are reimagining death as a human event, more personalized and eco-friendly.

Though her own brand aligns with this vision, professionally Shari is “agnostic” about the information she shares, letting her clients’ values and preferences lead.

Shari is a Trustee of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Northern New Jersey, a Member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, and a Volunteer with New Jersey Quality Institute’s Conversation of Your Life Task Force.
