Seekers of Meaning 1/31/2025: Abby Gilbert from Tikvah discusses mental health issues across the Jewish community

Abby Gilbert

Abby Gilbert joined Tikvah as the Executive Director in August 2021.   She recently celebrated 40 years in the Jewish Communal Service field.  Abby’s professional experience includes work as a synagogue program director, JCC director, Jewish Federation Program Manager and  URJ Youth Initiative Professional.   She has presented workshops on community organizing, experiential education and lay professional relations.  

Abby’s volunteer roles in the community include board service at the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center, KleinLife, Rotary Club of Northeast Philadelphia and Women of Reform Judaism.   Abby holds a BA in Communication from Temple University where she also studied Public Administration.   She has a Masters in Jewish Communal Service from Gratz College.  Abby resides in Jenkintown, PA  with her husband, Gary Freedman.  Abby and Gary have two grown daughters.
