Organizing a Lifetime of Memories – New Class

Over the course of our lives, we accumulate a trove of objects, experiences and memories that define our stories for generations to come. Sorting through those memories, whether they belong to you or a loved one that is no longer with us, can be a daunting task. Join Roslyn Sholin, associate member of the Council of American Jewish Museums, as she guides us through this intimidating task. Recently facing a similar challenge when she inherited a family home, Roslyn faced a lifetime of memories stashed in shoeboxes, cartons, storage lockers and a spare hall closet.  She will guide us on ways to manage this process and create a lasting tribute to your legacy and the legacies of your loved ones.

Melton School Class Taught by Rabbi Address: Growing Older, Living Longer: Four Values that Support Our Elder Life Stages
Growing Older, Living Longer: Four Values that Support Our Elder Life Stages

The contemporary Jewish community is living longer. According to recent studies, Jews over 50 years old make up over 40% of our community. As we grow older, we face new challenges both physically and spiritually. New needs arise and new expectations are set. Melton is pleased to offer this innovative class with Rabbi Richard Address (Founder and Director of Jewish Sacred Aging) in which we will examine the Jewish values of health, healing, wholeness, and holiness. These values combine to create a theology of relationships and growth that support our move into later life stages. Using Torah study and spiritual practice, Rabbi Address will guide students through growing older and wiser in the Jewish tradition.
