Sandy Tankoos’ bio
Sandra Tankoos (Sandy) was the founder and President of two successful court reporting agencies, Tankoos Reporting Company, Inc. and Ar-Ti Recording, Inc. for 28 years. During that time her companies were awarded and worked with many government contracts on the Federal, State and local levels, as well as servicing an ever growing private clientele. Sandy and her companies enjoyed an excellent reputation within the reporting industry.
Upon graduating college, Sandy worked as a Spanish teacher for 11 years. She has a BA from Queens College of the City of New York and a Masters Degree in Spanish from C.W. Post College in Long Island.
In 2006 Sandy decided to retire. At that time she sold both companies to a friendly competitor. Since then she has spent more time with her husband, children and grandchildren, traveling and volunteering for organizations that are important to her. She also began to use the Internet more frequently and discovered that going from site to site could sometimes be time consuming. She began to search for one site that would cover a variety of subjects that she found interesting. Not being able to find such a site is what planted the seed that eventually grew into TOS50.com, a website that explores areas of interest for those of us who are on The Other Side of 50.
Boomer Generation Radio airs on WWDB-AM 860 every Tuesday at 10 a.m., and features news and conversation aimed at Baby Boomers and the issues facing them as members of what Rabbi Address calls “the club sandwich generation.” You can hear the show live on AM 860, or streamed live from the WWDB website.
